The setting may be the temperate forest of the Dandenong Ranges, yet in almost every other detail you can imagine you have arrived at an exotic Balinese villa. The bedroom opens onto a sensual water garden surrounded by an oasis of palms. Balinese lanterns line the path to the retreat. A traditional bale has been built on the water. The curve of the delicately tiled roof , the drapes of Thai silk, the hand carved furniture including the opium bed, are just a few of the beautifully authentic elements.

There's an utterly luxurious spa room and an enormous sitting room with day beds. The kitchen is well equipped and well stocked with abundant gourmet breakfast provisions.

No indulgence is quite complete without the pampering of an expert spa treatment and the right meal for the occasion. Both are adeptly catered for at your Balinese Retreat. Dine on a Thai banquet served in your retreat's main room or out on the bale (weather permitting). Massage and Spa Treatments in your retreat, are also available by appointment.

There is really no reason to leave the retreat once you have crossed the threshold, although the Dandenongs are at your doorstep and the Yarra Valley is just 15 minutes drive.
